More than a Website

by Michael Richter

As a business owner, you have probably been inundated with many offers to design and
build your website. And you probably know, you should have some kind of online
presence for your business, whether itʼs to present your brand, services or products or
to sell.

What most website designers donʼt do is talk about how you can manage your
customer database, seamlessly manage email marketing campaigns, or set up
ecommerce for your business. Before you jump into designing a website, consider how
everything can and should work together for your business. If you donʼt have some kind
of contact form or newsletter sign up that feeds into your customer database, or if youʼre
still uploading a CSV file to some email marketing tool for each campaign or, you donʼt
have a plan to be found by search engines like Google, youʼre missing the boat.

Are you still using Google Analystics or other basic reporting tools to track customer
interaction with your business? Wouldnʼt it be great to see in real time who signed up
for a newsletter, who visited specific pages of your site, or who submitted a contact form
- all at the touch of a button? And what about video? Are you using this compelling
tactic to "tell your business story" to prospective or current customers?

If any of the above statements strike a chord with you, itʼs probably time to reassess your online
business system. Itʼs not just a website you need to have in place, itʼs a comprehensive
business system.

Finally, one login and one password

At one time I remember I had a login and password for my website, another for my blog, one for my CRM system, my domain name registration and an email marketing tool. I don't even want to think of adding an ecommerce tool to the mix.

What if you could streamline your business and take all these different tools and bring them together into a neat package? Would this save you time? Of course it would. And what would you do with your time? Probably focus on what you love to do, what you're good at, or what the highest level priorities are for your business.

Not only can you streamline your online business operations but this will also give you a comprehensive view of your business. Every day you can take a look at your dashboard (a report) and check out things such as how many customers have purchased, signed up for a newsletter, filled out a form or just visited the site.

Any visitor that provides some kind of data will automatically be added to your CRM - your customer relationship database. This allows you to maintain a relationship through email or other communications means with new leads and existing customers. No need to convert files, upload mailing lists and then export back to your master database.

We can help you integrate these many tools into one system saving you time and money and enabling you to focus on higher priorities. Work smart and streamline your business. Focus on the innovative and creative activities that make a business great.

digitalNarrative is LIVE!

by Michael Richter
Sunday, March 22, 2009

Today, digitalNarrative went LIVE after months of planning and preparation. The essence of digitalNarrative is helping individuals and/or businesses to "tell their story" in compelling ways whether through a blog, a video, participating in a social network or other manner.

Sending out emails, posting ads online and publishing websites is all necessary for your business, but often time consuming due to the multitude of tools a business owner must use to execute to things done. And, if the content is not compelling, is static and doesn't leave an impression, it is wasted effort. Your customers don't recall how fast you got the email out or how many pages you have on your website. What it all comes down to is a great idea, a creative concept, an amazing visual or just plain passion for one's work.

At digitalNarrative, we help you to determine your strategy aligned with business goals, then bring out the passion for your business through storytelling. Because, every business has a story to tell. So what's yours?
